POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the Human Resource Manager with complex and specialized administrative tasks including benefits and
leave management. Enforce company policies and practices. Process weekly payroll and onboard all new hire
employees. Oversee records and generate reports.

Essential Functions Statements
❖ Maintain employee records, ensure completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact
information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
❖ Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing
education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training and required
certifications.
❖ Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not
limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations;
performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and
safety; and training and development.
❖ Perform administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs,
resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
❖ Assist with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting
employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance
carriers or insurance brokers.
❖ Maintain work related injury claims and OSHA reporting processes.
❖ Plan and support company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation.
❖ Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
❖ Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and technologies in human resources,
talent management and employment laws.
❖ Conduct or assist with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings,
payroll audits and other compliance reviews.
❖ Enter, maintain, and/or process information in the payroll system; information may include employees'
hourly rates, salaries, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions
and withholdings, address changes and other information.
❖ Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile
payroll discrepancies.
❖ Verify attendance, hours worked, pay adjustments and post information onto designated records.
❖ Record employee information, such as exemptions, transfers, and resignations to maintain and update
payroll records.
❖ Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
❖ Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process.
❖ Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans and
collective agreement provisions.
❖ Serve as back up for time processing functions for payroll.
❖ Conduct verification of employment.
❖ Complete, verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension
plans and unemployment and medical insurance.
❖ Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements.

EXPERIENCE
At least three years of prior Human Resource experience preferred. Valid driver's license with an insurable driving
record required.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

EDUCATION
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Associate Degree (two-year college) or work equivalent in business.
